A practical team in Kya Sand
VinylCutter Craft is a small, hands-on team with work that changes from one day to the next. Some days are about helping a customer choose the right cutter for a home studio, other days are spent checking blade depth, fixing software connection problems, or testing material before a run. We value people who are steady, helpful, and comfortable working with detail.
Our base is in Kya Sand, with support for customers in Randburg, Sandton, Midrand, Roodepoort and Pretoria East, plus nationwide orders and remote help. Because many of our customers run small businesses from home or from compact workshops, we look for staff who understand practical setups, load-shedding backup plans, and the realities of working in South African conditions, including heat and coastal humidity when products travel further afield.
Roles we hire for
We do not hire for one fixed job only. Over time, we bring in people who can support sales, training, technical work and customer care. If you have experience with craft cutters, heat transfer vinyl, basic electronics, workshop support or customer service, that is a good place to start.
- Sales and customer support for calls, messages and order follow-up
- Technical assistance with machine setup, blade calibration and troubleshooting
- Training support for new users learning cut settings and workflow
- Workshop and parts support for cleaning, checks and replacement help
- Admin and coordination for quotes, deliveries and customer records
What helps you fit in here
We prefer people who explain things clearly and do not rush past small details. Our customers often need a simple answer they can use right away, especially when a cutter is not cutting cleanly or a heat press needs a quick check before an order goes out. A calm manner helps, as does a willingness to learn the differences between materials, blades and software settings.
You should be comfortable working on the phone and through our contact form, and able to keep records neat and accurate. If you can handle a busy day without losing patience, and you know how to follow through on a job until it is properly resolved, you will likely fit in well.
How to send your CV
If you would like to be considered, send your CV through our contact form with a short note telling us what kind of work you are looking for. Please include your location, your contact details, and a brief summary of any relevant experience. If you have worked with cutters, heat transfer products, workshop tools or after-sales support, mention that clearly.
- Send a CV in PDF or Word format
- Include your suburb or area, such as Kya Sand, Randburg or Midrand
- Mention any technical, sales, training or customer care experience
- Tell us when you are available to start
Training, support and growth
New team members need a proper introduction to our products and the way we help customers. That includes learning the basics of machine setup, how to spot blade issues, how to check cut quality, and how to guide someone through software connection help without making the process confusing. We also expect people to learn from workshop work and from real customer calls, because that is often where the best practical knowledge comes from.
There is room to grow if you show initiative, keep improving and take responsibility. A useful habit here is making sure the customer gets a clear answer the first time, or a proper handover if another person needs to step in.
Working conditions and expectations
We work from Johannesburg and support customers across South Africa, so reliability matters. Some tasks are office based, others involve time in the workshop or remote support sessions. During load-shedding, planning ahead is part of the job because customers still need answers and machines still need attention. We expect team members to communicate early if there is a delay, and to keep clients informed rather than leaving them waiting.
Honesty, tidy work and respect for customers go a long way here. We are not looking for people who overpromise. We are looking for people who do the job properly, communicate clearly and care about giving good service.
- Clear communication by phone, message and during training
- Attention to detail on settings, parts and test cuts
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different customer needs
- Reliable follow-up on open support queries
